The inaugural Super Cup match between Al Rayyan and Al Arabi on Friday will certainly be the appetizer before the main course.
In an effort to provide an extra boost to the league, the Qatar Volleyball Association decided to host a one-off tie between last season’s champions and Emir’s Cup winners from this season onwards.
The winners of the Super Cup will be richer by QR100,000.
The match at Arabi’s own backyard will be the first competitive outing for most of the Qatar internationals, who missed the Federation Cup due to the Arab Championship in Kuwait.
Rayyan vs Arabi matches have always been keenly-contested ones and sparks are bound to fly.
