Qatar suffered a 21-25, 23-25, 25-13, 22-25 defeat against runners-up Kazakhstan in the classification but they still topped Pool G in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship in Tehran on Wednesday. Both had the same points but Qatar took the first spot on better sets and points ratio. Now playing for the 9 to 12 spots, they will now clash with Indonesia. If “Aladem” win, they will take on the winner between Kazakhstan and Thailand for a ninth-place finish. Meanwhile, the line-up for the quarter-finals were drawn. South Korea take on India, former double winners Iran are pitted against Chinese Taipei, 2007 champions Australia clash with Pakistan, while holders and nine-time winners Japan will face China in the knock-out stage
