Qatar, along with Australia and Kazakhstan, will represent the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) at the FIVB World Championships, to be held in the Netherlands from June 26 to July 5.
As per the FIVB qualification criteria, the top three AVC teams, based on the Beach Tour rankings on December 31, 2014, earn direct entry to the Worlds.
At the cut off time, Australia were ranked 22nd followed by Kazakhstan (23) and Qatar (53).
The duo who won the 2nd GCC Beach Games at Al Gharafa earlier this month, are likely to represent Qatar, who will be making their debut at the World Championship.
The biennial event, which started in 1987, is the highlight on the FIVB Beach Volleyball calendar. The double-gender format was introduced in ’97 and is now the most prestigious event outside of the Olympic Games.
