The delegation of Qatar national men’s volleyball team left this morning, for Slovenia to set up the outdoor camp, which will be held from August 16-28, in preparation for the participation in the “21” Asian Championship that will be held in Japan September12th with the participation of 16 teams.
During the external camp, a number of friendly matches will be held, most notably with the Slovenia national team.
The draw for the Asian Championship placed our national team in the first group, which includes the owner of the land and the public Japan, India and Bahrain, which is considered one of the strongest groups in the tournament.
Qatar team will start its journey in the tournament against the Japanese team on September 12, and play its second match against India on the 13th of the same month, and conclude its matches in the first round “groups” on the fourteenth of it with a meeting with the Bahrain national team.
The draw for the Asian Championship competitions resulted in the Iranian team, the defending champion, in the second group, along with the teams of Pakistan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Taipei, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia.
This is the first Asian participation for our team since its last foreign participation in 2019, which was held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, and the team was supposed to participate in the Gulf Games last year 2020, but the tournaments were postponed due to the current health conditions imposed by the Corona (Covid-19) pandemic.
