Qatar’s Volleyball team opened its campaign in the 2nd edition of the GCC Games with 3-2 victory over Oman in Dammam city, KSA on Monday.
The national volleyball team started their campaign on high note, defeating Oman 25-22, 25-10 and 12-15. In the second match hosts KSA outclassed United Arab Emirates 3-0 ( 25-20,25-17 and 25-17).
The Qatar volleyball delegation to GCC Games is chaired by Ali Al Fayhani, the board member of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) accompanied by 12 players beside the technical and administrative staff members.
The prestigious Games are bring together five GCC nations after the withdrawal of Kuwait to include Qatar, hosts KSA, Bahrain, Oman and Oman.
In the goal ball competitions, Qatar were held to a 4-4 draw against United Arab Emirates, meanwhile in the second encounter, defending champions, KSA thrashed Bahrain 11-3.
