Jefferson Santos Pereira and Cherif Younousse continued their impressive run at the Netherlands 2015, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships when they reached the quarter-finals yesterday.
The Qatari pair beat Switzerland’s Philip Gabathuler and Mirco Gerson 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) to set up a clash against USA’s Nick Lucena and Theo Brunner, who eliminated Brazil’s Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-11).
“We are getting more confident because we won yesterday and today,” Jefferson said. “Nobody knows us because we haven’t played a lot before, but we are doing a great job.
In the match against the American team, Qatar suffered a 2-0 defeat to finish the championships in the fifth place.
