The preliminary competitions of the Aspire International Beach Volleyball Cup qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 will kick off on Tuesday. The tournament will be played at Al Gharafa Stadiums, Qatar (3 teams), Japan (2 teams), Oman, Netherlands, Poland (3 teams), Norway, Iran, Slovenia, Croatia and Kenya. In the morning, the draw for the preliminary round beside the technical meeting will be held tomorrow morning. The Qatari national team, led by Argentine coach Pablo Bernardi and his assistant Abdulaziz Khallouf, had finished their preparations to participate in this tournament, which won the title in the last two versions through duo Sharif Younis and Ahmed Tejan, and this is the sixth edition to be held in the State of Qatar.
Nasser Al Meer, Qatari national team, is ready to compete in this tournament through daily training for two periods in order to appear at a good level.
This year’s tournament will feature five teams that have already won world championships in terms of winning first place or crowning various medals, with Japanese duo Masato Kurasaka and Kinsuki Shoji (winning the Gold medalists) and their compatriots Hitoshi Murakami and Takashi (Bronze), Iran duo Ayrza Aghajani and Javad Fayrouz (silver), Omani duo Ahmad Al Hosani and Haitham Al Shariqi (silver), and Sweden duo David and Jonathan Hilvig (gold).
