Arch-rivals and domestic superpowers Al Arabi and Al Rayyan will face off in the Super Cup on Friday.
The one-off tie traditionally draws last season’s Qatar League champions against the Emir’s Cup winners.
But with Arabi having won both tournaments last season, league runners-up Rayyan got the chance to meet Arabi.
Arabi, who have won both editions of the tournament since its inception in 2014, will be eyeing a hat-trick while Rayyan will be keen to make amends for their past failures. The winners will be richer by QR100,000 and runners-up by QR50,000.
