The President of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Ali bin Ghanim Al Kuwari won the position of Vice President of the Asian volleyball Confederation, after his unanimous election as President of the West Asian Federation, during the meeting held today via video call.

After being elected for this position, the President of Qatar Volleyball Association obtains membership in the Executive Office of the International Volleyball Federation, and will represent the West Asian Federation in the next General Assembly of the International Federation. Today’s meeting witnessed the election of the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain as membership of the Executive Office of the Asian Volleyball Confederation. The President of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Mr. Ali bin Ghanim Al Kuwari said: that his unanimous election came as a result of the West Asian Federations confidence in Qatar Volleyball Association in its ability to develop the game in the region, and what was achieved did not come out of nowhere and it is the product of the continuous work of the QVA in all international and regional levels. Mr. Ali pointed out that winning this position is an additional achievement made by Qatari sports in various fields thanks to the support it receives from the wise leadership in the country, and the great interest of HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani. He added that for the first time Qatar obtained this position, which he considered as a continuation of the sport successes in general and volleyball in particular.
