Two beach volleyball teams from Qatar will compete in the Fifth Asian Beach Volleyball Games in Danang, Vietnam, from September 24 to October 3.
Jefferson Pereira and Cherif Younnousse, who made their Olympic debut this year at Rio, have been in good form since the start of season.
They won an FIVB World Tour event at Kish Island in Iran, reached the pre-quarterfinal of Rio Games and defended the Arab title in Morocco recently.
They hope to carry their good form to the Asian event, to be held at the My Khe Beach.
“Danang is famous for its long beaches and My Khe is a perfect venue for such a big competition. We’re ready to give our best,” said the Qatari duo before leaving for Danang.
The other team which will take part in the event includes Julio De Nascimento and Ahmed Tijan, Who won the 3rd place in the last Arab Championship in Morocco.
The draw for the championship will be made a day before the event starts.
