Qatar League holders Al Rayyan will take on Emir’s Cup champions Al Arabi in a one-off match for the Super Cup on December 12.
The event, first of its kind in the history of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA), is likely to set the tone and tenor for the 2014-15 Qatar League.
Rayyan clinched their eighth league title in March after defeating Police in the last fixture while Arabi rallied to beat Police en route to their 20th Emir’s Cup.
The matches between Rayyan and Arabi have always been high-voltage contests and the Super Cup promises to be another thriller.
The season has already started with the Federation Cup, but it is proving to be a low-key affair as most of the national team members were undergoing a training camp in Italy, for the Arab Championship, beginning in Kuwait on November 25.
