Former champion Al Arabi Club of Qatar have been placed in Group B of the Arab Clubs Volleyball Championship, to be held in Cairo, Egypt from February 16 to 28.
According to the draw of the event, Al Arabi, the 2003 winners, have been clubbed with Palestine’s Jabalia, Libya’s Al Hilal, Bahrain’s Al Ahly and UAE’s Shabab Al Ahli.
Fifteen teams are competing and they have been put in three different groups. Pool A has Al Ahli (Egypt), Asaria (Libya), Al Seeb (Oman), Khaibel (Yaman) and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia). Pool C consists of Zamalek (Egypt), Southern Gas (Iraq), Baniyas (UAE), Wadi Mousa (Jordan) and Al Salam (Oman).
After double defending champions Al Rayyan sent regret for not competing in this year’s Arab championship, Al Arabi, the two-time finalists, were included in the draw.
