The Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) will host the FIVB World Tour Qatar Open for the third consecutive time at Al Gharafa Beach Venue starting from April 03.
Qatar will field two teams in this prestigious volleyball meeting which will bring together 54 teams from across the world. Qatar and Oman will participate in the main rounds of the event.
Qatar have a strong chance of making the Rio cut, with top pair of Jefferson Pereira and Cherif Younousse winning the recent Kish Islan Open in Iran.
A strong show at the home courts will help them gain more points. The duo competed in the Grand Slam event at Rio and Vitoria Open beside Kish this year.
Qatar’s latest performance will also help them overcome the disappointment of crashing out in the second round last year. German duo of Markus Bockermann and Lars Fluggen, who won gold last November, are expected to return to Doha.
