Qatar team confidently recorded a 3-0 victory over United Arab Emirates team in the volleyball event of the 2nd edition of the GCC Games held in Dammam city, KSA on Friday.
Friday’s victory braced the Qatari team to raise points tally to 6 , increasing their chance for qualifying to the second round.
In a press release on Friday, The Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General, Dr. Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, confirmed that Qatar is participating in the Games with second level teams in effort to make youth category gaining more experience and skills.
The camel (Hejen) competitions which consists of eight rounds will kick off on Saturday amid participation of different classes attended here from GCC participating countries.
The prestigious Games are bringing together five GCC nations after the withdrawal of Kuwait to include Qatar, hosts KSA, Bahrain, Oman and Oman.
