President of Qatar Volleyball Association Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari said that the board’s decision to delay the last week of the league to a later date was in light of delaying all sporting events all over the world as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).He said in a statement that the league title was seeing intense competition between Al Arabi and Police Club. He added that it was this intense competition that prompted the board to delay the final week to give both teams a shot at the title.He noted that the association decided to cancel all other events given that all international volleyball competitions were delayed indefinitely. He praised the role Qatar Olympic Competition (QOC) is playing in light of the spread of Coronavirus, saying the committee was in constant communication with designated authorities and is guiding national sporting associations with regards to the necessary precautionary measures.
