The volleyball federation held yesterday evening, at its headquarters, a ceremony honoring ( Beach volleyball team) on the occasion of achieving many achievements during the external participation, most notably the gold medal of the last Asian Championship and the silver medal of the Arab Championship.
The ceremony was attended by Mr.Khalid bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, President of the Arab and Qatari Police Sports Federations, Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Federation,members of the Federation’s board, technical and administrative staff and the national team.
Al-Attiyah stressed that the team deserved this honor by the Federation because it achieved many achievements in its international, continental and regional career, and wished that these achievements will continue, stressing the support of the Police federation for all activities and events organized by the QVA and contribute with him in the development of the game in the country The supporters of the Federation in the presence of its members in the various national teams and the police team, which competes strongly in local and foreign championships, and wished the success of all clubs and national teams in all external participation.
He pointed out that the achievements made in the Qatari sports come thanks to the support of the wise leadership in the country, and the follow-up of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and sponsorship of all national teams and teams in various fields.
Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Qatar volleyball Federation pointed out that the beach team has achieved many achievements and outstanding results in all external participation and has become one of the best teams ranked in the world and achieve many outstanding results on the strongest teams.
The president of the federation said that the team is waiting for many external participation in the coming period in the framework of qualifying for the next Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
He added that the team will participate in the Aspire International Championship hosted in Doha next month, which is witnessing a large participation of the best teams in the world, and that the registration to participate in this tournament exceeded the number of teams participating in it, where 20 countries submitted more than one team, including Japan, which has six teams to participate.
He said: The Federation will provide a special preparatory program for the national team to hijack the direct qualification card to Tokyo 2020, in internal and external camps and besides being in the most prominent world championships qualifying for the Olympics, which gives the rating points qualify for participation.
Charif Younis, the player of the beach volley ball, expressed his happiness with honoring and thanked the Qatari federation for providing all the means to prepare well in order to appear in honorable levels in all external participation. The Qatari national team has become a good team in the international rankings after the good results achieved in international tournaments and that it aspires with his team mates for the second time in a row at the Olympics.
